Approximately 13,000 young people from Moldova have used the “Cultural Voucher,” according to the Ministry of Culture, three years after the program’s launch. In 2025 alone, about 5,000 young people benefited from the initiative.
The Ministry reports that roughly 70% of voucher holders purchase books, textbooks, or literature for teenagers. Shows, cinema visits, and concerts rank second in their preferences.
“We also see a noticeable increase in interest in contemporary literature and books for personal development,” ministry representatives note.
The cultural voucher provides a non-refundable digital ticket worth 1,000 lei to 18-year-olds with an electronic signature. Recipients can use it to buy books, theater tickets, concert tickets, and movie tickets within one year of activation. The program operates exclusively online via platforms such as iTicket, Mticket, Afisha, and partner libraries Librarius and Aalto.
