The Reintegration Policies Bureau (BPR) reports that 12 public institutions in the Transnistrian region have been disconnected from the gas supply network. BPR noted that the government continues to monitor the situation in the region.
The BPR stated that the Tiraspoltransgaz enterprise disconnected 12 public institutions located in the Security Zone—areas under constitutional authorities’ control, including the Dubasari district, Bender municipality, and nearby settlements. These institutions include four educational facilities, one medical institution, and two cultural establishments.
Additionally, authorities cut off heating supplies to more public buildings in Bender municipality, including Moldova’s police and prosecutor’s office subdivisions.

“The government monitors the situation in the region,” the BPR reaffirmed.
Prime Minister Dorin Recean stated that Moldova is ready to handle any challenges resulting from the Kremlin’s decision. On December 28, Gazprom notified Moldovagaz of its plan to halt gas deliveries starting January 1, 2025. The prime minister emphasized that this decision further reveals the Kremlin’s intent to deprive residents of the Transnistrian region of electricity and heating during winter. “Russia is using energy as a political weapon, turning the people in the Transnistrian region, whom it controls through an illegally stationed army, into hostages,” Recean asserted.
