Young people in Moldova could become eligible for the Cultural Voucher starting at the age of 16, according to the government program published by Prime Minister-designate Vasile Tofan. The proposal is included in the culture chapter of the incoming Cabinet’s policy agenda.
According to the document, the authorities also aim to attract significantly more tourists to Moldova. Specifically, the government targets a 30% increase in the number of visitors compared with 2024.
The program further seeks to boost participation in cultural life by increasing the number of visitors and attendees at public cultural institutions by up to 20%.
Other proposed measures include modernizing the management and financing of theaters and concert institutions, prioritizing investment in cultural infrastructure, supporting the production of at least four to five feature films, television series, or domestic co-productions each year, and making full use of Moldova’s membership in the Eurimages Fund.
In addition, the government plans to attract five to seven major cultural projects financed through European Union programs and establish a national co-financing mechanism to support their implementation.
