The government led by Prime Minister-designate Vasile Tofan will request a vote of confidence from Parliament on Tuesday, July 21. The ministers will present the Cabinet’s programme of activity during a plenary session scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m.
The decision was approved by the Parliament’s Permanent Bureau during its meeting on July 15.
Last week, President Maia Sandu nominated Vasile Tofan as candidate for the position of prime minister following consultations with parliamentary factions.
Under Moldova’s Constitution, Parliament grants confidence to the government by a majority vote of elected lawmakers. After the vote, the president signs the decree appointing the new Cabinet.
