The ten largest companies in the Republic of Moldova generate a combined turnover exceeding €3.49 billion, accounting for 6.37% of the national market, according to HitHorizons data updated in May 2025, bani.md reports.
Moldovagaz leads the ranking with annual sales of €860.7 million, representing 1.57% of the total market. The majority shareholder of the gas supplier is the Russian energy giant Gazprom.
In second place is Moldretail Group SRL, the operator of the Linella supermarket chain, with revenues of €427.6 million and a market share of 0.78%. Moldovan millionaire Vasile Dragan controls the company. Rounding out the top three is Floarea Soarelui SA, an oil producer based in Balti, owned by Vaja Jhashi. He also controls 70% of the local grain market and posted a turnover of €403.9 million, representing 0.74% of the total market.
