Transnistrians still don’t have hot water in their homes. Krasnoselski’s explanation: There is not enough gas

Almost three weeks after gas deliveries resumed in Transnistria, residents of the region still do not have hot water. According to Vadim Krasnoselski, the insufficient volume of gas supplied to Tiraspol is the cause.

The separatist leader also discussed, in a meeting with several Transnistrian officials, the need to fully restart industry activities. According to him, the process must proceed gradually.

“We don’t have enough gas, but we need to solve this problem,” said Krasnoselski.
Also, in January, the separatist region of Moldova had no gas after Gazprom halted deliveries. As a result, they suspended the heat supply, and people had no electricity for up to eight hours a day as the Cuciurgan power plant switched to coal.

The EU resolved the situation in the first half of February by providing a €30 million grant. Brussels wanted to extend its support, but the separatists opted for a Russian loan of $50 million, through which they are purchasing gas from a Hungarian company, paid by a firm registered in Dubai.

By March, the self-proclaimed authorities plan to purchase about 3 million cubic meters of gas daily.
