Travel Alert in Southern France: The largest wildfire of this summer

Moldovan citizens currently in, transiting through, or planning to travel to the southern regions of France should be aware of a massive vegetation fire that has disrupted traffic on the main highway connecting France to Spain, specifically, the A9 motorway between Narbonne and Perpignan, as reported by IPN.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the fire broke out in the Aude department of the Occitania region and burned over 11,000 hectares of vegetation, making it the largest wildfire recorded this summer.

In addition to the A9 motorway, authorities shut down several secondary and regional roads. They urge travelers to exercise extreme caution and avoid the affected area.
