The Supervisory Board of Moldova’s public broadcaster Teleradio-Moldova (TRM) has postponed the final interview stage in the competition to appoint the company’s new director general.
The decision came after the Intelligence and Security Service (SIS) requested additional time to conduct background checks on the candidates.
The interviews had been scheduled for Friday, July 17, starting at 1:00 p.m., and were expected to be the final stage of the selection process.
Four candidates remain in the competition: Dorin Scobioală, Ecaterina Cheptănaru, Sergiu Sandulescu, and Andrei Zapșa.
According to the Supervisory Board, the postponement followed a request from SIS Director Alexandru Musteața, who asked for additional time to complete the verification of the applicants.
The board had previously announced that the winner would be revealed on the afternoon of July 17 after the interviews concluded.
A day earlier, the Supervisory Board held an extraordinary meeting after discovering an application that had not initially been reviewed. The file, submitted by Dumitru Vieru via email, was examined and found to be incomplete. The board subsequently excluded Vieru from the competition, leaving the four remaining candidates eligible to take part in the interview stage.
