Ukraine has sent the Moldovan authorities the results of laboratory tests for chicken meat carried out in a European laboratory and is now awaiting a decision on the resumption of exports to the Republic of Moldova by one of the largest Ukrainian poultry producers, Myronivska Poultry Farm, according to BANI.MD.

An official letter was sent by Andrii Kreitor to Radu Musteață, head of the National Food Safety Agency of the Republic of Moldova.

The move follows agreements reached by regulatory authorities from the two countries during an online working meeting held on March 12, 2026. After the meeting, the Ukrainian food safety service submitted additional laboratory test results to ANSA regarding products manufactured by Myronivska Poultry Farm.

The ANSA confirmed it had received the results. Mariana Grati said the institution will soon present the conclusions of the European laboratory report.

The tests were conducted in an accredited European laboratory using methods that comply with European Union legislation. The analyses focused on detecting residual levels of Metronidazole, a substance whose use in the production of animal-origin products is strictly regulated.

Samples were collected at the company’s production facilities in Cherkasy Oblast as part of a state inspection. The sampling was carried out by an authorized commission that included representatives of territorial state control bodies, the state veterinary laboratory, and the economic operator.

In total, 72 blood serum samples were collected from broiler chickens of different ages. All samples were sealed, documented, and sent for laboratory analysis. The results were officially transmitted to Moldovan regulators together with supporting documentation.

Ukrainian authorities say the step fulfills commitments agreed during consultations between the competent institutions of the two countries. Ukraine is now awaiting the next step from Moldovan authorities — a decision on whether to resume imports of products from Myronivska Poultry Farm to the Moldovan market.

Ukrainian chicken has been supplied to the Moldovan market for many years, competing with local producers and imports from other countries due to its competitive price-to-quality ratio. Resuming exports is therefore considered important not only for the producer but also for maintaining the stable presence of Ukrainian products on the Moldovan market.

The State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection also noted that cooperation between Ukraine and Moldova in veterinary and sanitary control continues in a constructive format, with ongoing dialogue aimed at resolving technical issues and ensuring compliance with international food safety standards.
