Valeriu Mija, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, met in Chisinau with Olexandr Mischenko, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, who is on a visit to Moldova.
During the discussions, the officials analyzed recent security developments at the regional and international levels in the context of the situation in Ukraine and the tensions in the Middle East. They also addressed several topics on the Moldovan–Ukrainian bilateral agenda.
An important point of the meeting was the organization of the third edition of the Black Sea Security Conference, which will take place in Chisinau on March 23. The interlocutors discussed security prospects in the Black Sea region, the consequences of the ongoing military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, as well as the possible effects of the worsening situation in the Middle East on countries in the region.
At the same time, the officials stressed the importance of formulating practical recommendations to strengthen regional security and resilience.
