The envoys of President Maia Sandu, Dorin Recean and Nicu Popescu, will work without pay, as the position is voluntary. The announcement was made by PAS MP Dorian Istrati on TVR.

“As far as I know, this special envoy position is voluntary and unpaid. The envoy does not receive any salary for exercising this role, including Mr. Popescu. It is more of a title, a representative position through which the ideas and proposals of the President are promoted internationally, along with the country’s interests. At the same time, it is a person who can bring benefits and partners that can help us counter the hybrid war we are currently facing — a war waged by the Russian Federation,” Istrati stated.

We remind that on December 10, President Maia Sandu signed the decree appointing former Prime Minister Dorin Recean as Special Envoy for Development and Resilience. Additionally, on October 31, former Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu was appointed by the Head of State as Special Envoy for European Affairs and Strategic Partnerships.
