European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will visit Chisinau on Thursday. President Maia Sandu will meet with her. The Presidency announced the official visit in a press release.
According to the same sources, the visit emphasizes the increasingly close relationship between Chisinau and Brussels after our country obtained the status of a candidate state to the EU in June 2022 and officially started accession negotiations in June this year.
“For the briefing, journalists are expected at the State Residence, 23 Nicolae Iorga Street, starting at 10:30 and no later than 10:50. Access will be by accreditation only. President Maia Sandu will meet with Ursula von der Leyen, the President of the European Commission, during her working visit to the Republic of Moldova”, the information note reads.
