Emmanuel Macron praises Maia Sandu’s courage. In an exclusive interview with “Bridges to Europe,” conducted by Ecaterina Covali and aired by RLIVE TV, the French leader thanked the Moldovan President for his and his team’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations.

The Paris-based official believes that Moldova, thanks to the current head of state, has turned its sights towards the European Union, strengthened the rule of law and the economy, and gradually started to integrate into the community. At the same time, Macron spoke about the war in Ukraine, which has destabilized Moldova and the situation in the region in general.

“Moldova is committed to a European anchoring of the whole region. That is why I would like to thank President Sandu for her courage and her and her team’s commitment. In all these years, we have indeed strengthened our ties. I have made several bilateral visits. The President has been here several times. We organized an unprecedented meeting of the European Political Community in Moldova. All this has certainly settled things and stabilized this link. For me, it is clear that this relationship will continue in the future, for the future of Moldova,” Macron said.
