The Luxembourg Conference will anchor Moldova on the irreversible path of EU accession. The head of Romanian diplomacy made the statement at the start of the meeting of EU foreign ministers.
The officials are meeting ahead of the intergovernmental conference, where they will announce the launch of EU accession negotiations for Moldova and Ukraine.
“I welcome the organization of the intergovernmental conference with Ukraine and Moldova for the formal opening of EU accession negotiations. This intergovernmental conference will anchor Moldova and Ukraine on the irreversible path of EU integration”, said Luminitsa Odobescu.

The diplomat also addressed the current security context. She mentioned that she would discuss adopting a strategic position on the situation in the Black Sea region with her counterparts.
