(VIDEO) Moldova and Germany are about to sign a migration agreement. Scholz: ”It will benefit citizens of both nations”

Moldova and Germany are preparing to sign a migration agreement. Chancellor Olaf Scholz and President Maia Sandu announced this decision following their meeting in Chisinau.

President Maia Sandu announced that the agreement is still being prepared. Relevant institutions will share details about the document once they finalize it. She also expressed her hope that members of our diaspora will return from abroad.

“Discussions are progressing well. We have resolved all practical and strategic issues, but we need to get things started. I believe this agreement will benefit the citizens of both countries,” Scholz emphasized.

Additionally, the Berlin leader reiterated support for Moldova’s accession to the European Union. He expressed pleasure in the cooperation between Germany and the Republic of Moldova and emphasized his desire to strengthen bilateral relations.

”I want to highlight the strong ties between our countries. We have met to finalize new agreements and deepen our cooperation. A key issue is how we manage migration. We recognize that Moldova suffers due to Russia’s war against Ukraine. We will support Moldova wholeheartedly. Your country has managed to cope with the destabilizations so far. You have made progress,” said the German Chancellor.
