President Maia Sandu expressed deep appreciation for Moldovans living in Italy, emphasizing that their contributions to their local communities help Moldova gain support for its European path, MOLDPRES reports.
During her meetings with members of the Moldovan diaspora in Italy, she discussed Moldova’s accession to the European Union and the diaspora’s role in advancing that goal.
“Stay close to Moldova—through your actions and through your hope that our country will move forward. The fact that you are respected here helps us build support for Moldova and its European journey. Thank you for carrying Moldova with you, wherever you are,” said Maia Sandu.

Between July 9 and 13, President Maia Sandu visited Italy. In Rome, she attended the Conference on Ukraine’s Reconstruction hosted by Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. During her stay, she also held several meetings with Moldovan citizens settled in Italy.
