(VIDEO) Rosca announces his priorities as Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration. Is he planning a meeting with Ignatiev?

Roman Rosca, the new Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, identified maintaining dialogue with Tiraspol and preserving regional stability as his top priorities. However, he made clear that it remains too early to discuss a potential meeting with Vitali Ignatiev, the so-called foreign minister of the self-proclaimed Transnistrian region.

Rosca underscored that Moldova must ensure peace as a crucial precondition for joining the European Union. He emphasized the need to uphold human rights, guarantee access to education, promote international cooperation, allow media from the right bank of the Dniester to operate freely, and resolve the difficulties faced by farmers who own land along the Ribnita–Tiraspol route.

“We must strengthen and support the state institutions that function in territories beyond constitutional control,” Rosca said. “This includes Romanian-language schools, law enforcement, and judicial bodies in Bender, which stand as a flame of our identity and uphold Moldovan law.”

He also urged stronger support for local public administrations and state institutions operating within the security zone.

When asked about the possibility of a 1+1 format meeting with Ignatiev, Rosca explained that he first needs to become fully acquainted with the negotiation process and its agenda. “After that, the Prime Minister and I will decide on the right time for such a meeting,” he added.
