(VIDEO) The EU and Moldova strengthen cooperation for better transport: Discussions took place in Chisinau

The second EU-Moldova Transport Dialogue took place today in Chisinau. Co-chaired by Vladimir Bolea, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development of the Republic of Moldova, and Magda KopczyƄska, Director-General for Mobility and Transport at the European Commission, the dialogue focused on further strengthening cooperation across all modes of transport and addressing future initiatives in the sector.

The agenda covered key topics for advancing EU-Moldova relations in transport. These included boosting strategic connectivity based on the success of the EU-Ukraine Solidarity Lanes and deeper integration of EU and Moldovan markets. They also covered the alignment of transport regulations.

During the dialogue, participants focused on infrastructure development and Moldova’s plans to establish multimodal logistics hubs. They also discussed the integration of digital technologies in the transport sector. Cooperation areas also include the Transport Community, which supports regional integration and information sharing.
