The Republic of Moldova’s National Army received its first five Piranha 5 on Wednesday, 17 June, following a delivery from the Government of Germany.
According to the Ministry of Defence, the new armoured vehicles will increase soldiers’ mobility, protection, and operational effectiveness. The Army will deploy them in both missions and training exercises as part of broader modernisation efforts.
Defence Minister Anatolie Nosatii said the delivery marks “an important step towards a modern army capable of responding to current security challenges,” underscoring the role of the equipment in strengthening Moldova’s defence capabilities.
