(VIDEO) USM Rector: Relations with Romanian academic institutions are my priority

Relations with Romanian academic institutions are a priority for the rector of the State University of Moldova (USM), Igor Sharov. The official said in an interview with RLIVE TV that Bucharest invests in education in Moldova and reiterated that we cannot imagine today’s education system without support from across the Prut.

Mr. Sharov pointed out that Romania has consistently supported and increased investments at various times. The rector highlighted several main projects: purchasing about 200 school buses, rehabilitating approximately 1,000 kindergartens, and renovating university halls.

“Relations between people, regardless of the existing regime, were preserved. For me, the relations with Romanian universities, academic centers, and institutions of the Romanian Academy of Science, universities, are and will be one of my priorities, not only as a historian but currently as rector of the State University of Moldova,” Igor Sharov pointed out.

At the same time, the rector of the USM also referred to the collaboration of the districts of the Republic of Moldova with localities across the Prut and mentioned that Romania has helped to renovate the high school in Comrat, the Art Museum, the Organ Hall and the theater in Cahul.
