The authorities in Vilnius have banned Irina Vlah from entering Lithuania for 5 years. Lithuanian officials justified the decision by citing the links between the Chairwoman of the Inima Moldovei Party and the Russian Federation, reports IPN.

According to Lithuanian authorities, Irina Vlah frequently travels to Russia, where she meets with Russian officials and coordinates actions through which Moscow attempts to influence Moldova’s internal affairs and democratic processes, including the parliamentary elections on September 28.

It is not the first time international sanctions have targeted the former Governor of Gagauzia. On August 28, 2025, the Government of Canada imposed restrictive measures against her. Additionally, Moldova’s Interinstitutional Oversight Council imposed sanctions, and the State Tax Service blocked her funds and assets.
