The upcoming Moldova-EU Summit on July 4 in Chisinau confirms that the country is moving in the right direction, according to government spokesperson Daniel Voda. He described the event as “a declaration of trust” from Brussels toward Moldova.
In an interview with Moldova 1, Voda noted that European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Antonio Costa will meet with President Maia Sandu, Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, and Prime Minister Dorin Recean. The agenda includes discussions on Moldova’s Growth Plan and cooperation in strategic sectors such as infrastructure, energy, digitalization, education, social protection, and regional development.
“Hosting this summit positions Moldova as a key partner of the European Union,” Voda said. “It confirms that our country is taken seriously as an EU candidate, a trusted neighbor, and a committed reformer. The summit also demonstrates the EU’s strong political support, financial assistance, and its focus on improving the lives of Moldovan citizens.”
