The Alternativa Bloc will participate in consultations with the head of state to decide the candidate for Prime Minister. Alexandr Stoianoglo said he is satisfied that the candidate is a technocrat without political affiliations.
“Thank God we at least have a candidate for Prime Minister, a technocrat with no political ties. In my opinion, that is already a fairly good sign,” Stoianoglo said in a video published by Newsmaker.
He added that he has not yet received an invitation for consultations with Maia Sandu, but he will attend once it is issued. Stoianoglo also confirmed that the Alternativa Bloc will support PAS projects that aim for the country’s good and the welfare of its citizens.
The legislature elected on September 28, 2025, was legally constituted on October 22. The new Parliament will have six factions: PAS, the Socialist Faction, the Communist Faction, the Alternativa Bloc, Partidul Nostru, and Democratia Acasa.
After electing the Speaker, Maia Sandu will consult the factions to appoint the Prime Minister. PAS announced it will nominate Alexandru Munteanu for the position.
