Yandex will no longer be available in Moldova. The Information and Security Service (SIS) has asked to block the Russian search engine on the territory of our country.
The authorities sent the request on October 2. At the same time, the SIS has requested that the Moldovan platforms moldova24.online, pwa.moldova24.online, rutube.ru, and dzen.ru should no longer be accessible on the territory of the Republic of Moldova.
As a reminder, SIS officers recently asked to block several other Russian news portals, including the state news agency Ria. The Service’s representatives claim that the information on these websites threatens Moldova’s national security.

It is not the first time SIS has requested such measures from providers. Earlier, for example, it had previously asked to restrict access to dozens of other Russian news portals, including the state news agency TASS. In August 2024, authorities ordered the blocking of the bank’s official website following statements by Gagauzia governor Eugenia Gutsul about providing financial aid to the region’s population via Russia’s Prosveazbank.
