(VIDEO) Minister of Internal Affairs: In the case of Irina Lozovan’s disappearance, the Police still do not have the ability to act

The Minister of Internal Affairs, Daniella Misail Nichitin, stated that the police still cannot act in the case of Irina Lozovan’s disappearance. She explained that the authorities needed a court decision to search for her.

Irina Lozovan disappeared shortly before her hearing in the case regarding the illegal financing of shadow-controlled parties by Ilan Shor. The deputy, who lost her immunity, failed to attend the last court sessions.

“In Irina Lozovan’s case, the police still cannot act because there is no court decision. The person with this name is on the wanted list, meaning she cannot legally leave Moldova,” explained Daniella Misail-Nichitin.

The official pointed out that, legally, Alexandr Nesterovschi has not left Moldova, as he presented documents issued in his name.

Nesterovschi disappeared on the day his sentence of 12 years in prison was pronounced. At that time, the press reported that the fugitive parliamentarian had obtained Russian citizenship.

Soon after, authorities revealed that Irina Lozovan was also missing, with the last hearing she attended taking place in February. On March 3, the judges ordered her not to leave the country.
