The National Army deployed its 24th contingent of soldiers to the KFOR peacekeeping mission in Kosovo. The group includes 41 Moldovan servicemen, seven of whom are women, and they will serve for six months.

The Ministry of Defense and National Army leadership attended the official ceremony, along with ambassadors, military attachés, NATO Liaison Office representatives, and the families of the deployed soldiers.

Defense Minister Anatolie Nosatîi said he trusts the training of the 41 soldiers and praised their families and international partners for supporting Moldova’s commitment to regional peace and stability.

The soldiers will carry out security missions, guard military facilities, and conduct patrols in their area of responsibility. They will operate under Regional Command-West and be stationed at Camp Villaggio Italia in Pech, Kosovo. The Ministry of Defense noted that 2026 marks 12 years of Moldova’s participation in the KFOR mission.
