Eighty local entrepreneurs have secured grants totaling 22.3 million lei from the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the European Union, aiming to fuel investments of over 42.1 million lei in the national economy. The funding will support business expansion, technological upgrades, and the creation of at least 328 new jobs. Authorities announced the list of beneficiaries today during an official event in Chișinău.
The grants were awarded through various programs managed by the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development (ODA) and will be used primarily to acquire high-performance equipment and digitalize company processes.
Of the 80 recipients:
- The 48 companies will receive 16.3 million lei from the Moldovan government.
- The 29 companies will benefit from 4.9 million lei under the European Union for Small and Medium Enterprises project.
- Three companies will receive 1.1 million lei through the Small Producers Support Program, part of the EU4Moldova: Local Communities initiative funded by the EU and the Government of Germany.
Currently, the beneficiary companies employ 375 people. With the new support, they will create at least 328 additional jobs.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Doina Nistor, who attended the event, emphasized the strategic role of these investments:
“These funds will translate into modern equipment and streamlined processes, boosting productivity and competitiveness. We are building an economic model focused on added value, technology, and innovation. And we are not doing this alone—our partners are standing by our side. Our goal is long-term, sustainable business growth here at home.”
Nistor also assured that the government will continue to expand funding and support for local entrepreneurs.
The ODA Director Vadim Codreanu encouraged companies to explore additional financing opportunities:
“Since the start of the year, we’ve signed about 300 grant contracts. In 2025, we aim to increase the number of beneficiaries by at least a third, especially with new resources provided through the Budget Plus project.”
Vasile Plamadeala, Trade Officer at the EU Delegation to Moldova, reiterated the EU’s commitment to supporting Moldovan SMEs:
“Small and medium enterprises are the backbone of the Moldovan economy and a key pillar of the EU’s 1.9 billion-euro Economic Growth Plan. We will continue to stand with them.”
Since January, the ODA has provided grants to 300 companies, amounting to 120.8 million lei. These grants will generate over 232 million lei in investments, further strengthening Moldova’s economic resilience and competitiveness.
