“Diaspora Days” organized on August 18-19 in Chișinău

This year, the Diaspora Days will take place on August 18-19 in Chișinău and will be marked by two special events: the Diaspora Congress on August 18 and the Diaspora Business Forum on August 19.

During the 10th edition of the Diaspora Congress, participants will interact with officials from public institutions and representatives of partner organizations. They will also discover the advantages of investing in key sectors of the economy. Moreover, during the discussion panels, attendees will become familiar with digital mechanisms dedicated to the diaspora, facilitating knowledge and idea exchanges.

On the second day, at the Diaspora Business Forum, guests will present trends and priorities in the national economy, as well as investment opportunities in the Republic of Moldova. The event aims to promote local products, attract investments, and identify new opportunities for expanding exports.

"Diaspora has a valuable contribution to the Republic of Moldova, actively participating in social and political development, and remittances remain an important source of economic growth, accounting for 14% of the GDP in 2022. Therefore, the Diaspora Days represent an excellent opportunity to meet our citizens from different countries, thank them, and present the government's offer to ensure that we have all the mechanisms to support and motivate the diaspora to invest back home," said Adrian Băluțel.

To participate in the events of the Diaspora Days and benefit from all the activities and informative sessions, Moldovan citizens residing abroad can register by accessing the official platform: https://congresuldiasporei.gov.md/.

The Diaspora Days are organized with the support of the project “Policy Advice Fund,” funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and implemented by the German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ) in Moldova.
