US Secretary of State Antony Blinken congratulated the Republic of Moldova on Independence Day and thanked it for the support provided to Ukraine.
“On behalf of the United States of America, I warmly congratulate Moldova and its people on 32 years of independence from the Soviet Union.”
“We are also grateful for the unwavering support of the Republic of Moldova for its neighbor, Ukraine, in addressing the impact of Russia’s aggressive war and commend the Moldovan people’s efforts in hosting hundreds of thousands of refugees.”
Furthermore, Blinken mentioned that “the United States appreciates the shared commitment of the Republic of Moldova to strengthen democratic institutions and judicial reforms, to stimulate economic growth, enhance security, and promote respect for human rights.”
He added that the US has supported Moldova on its path towards integration into the EU.
