Doina Gherman to Attend COSAC Meeting in Belgium to Discuss EU Priorities and Expansion

The President of the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Committee, Doina Gherman, will participate in the Meeting of the Presidents of the Conference of the Committees for Union Affairs of the Parliaments of the European Union (COSAC). The event will occur from January 14 to 15 in Namur, the Kingdom of Belgium.

The priorities of the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union will be presented during the meeting. Another topic on the agenda is the expansion of the European Union and its impact on the future of the EU, as well as social rights as a pillar of the EU.

COSAC is a forum established in 1989 for cooperation, information exchange, and sharing of best practices among the national parliaments of EU member states and the European Parliament. COSAC aims to facilitate discussions between members of national parliaments and Members of the European Parliament regarding practical aspects of parliamentary control over European affairs.

Meetings of the presidents of the conference of the committees for union affairs of the parliaments of the European Union are organized semi-annually.
