The parliament has ratified an agreement on free trade with Iceland, the Principality of Liechtenstein, Norway, and the Swiss Confederation (EFTA). The objective of this document is to strengthen economic cooperation among the participating states and enhance commercial exchanges.
This agreement will facilitate favorable conditions for exporting Moldovan products while encouraging companies from EFTA countries to invest in Moldova, thereby potentially creating new job opportunities. Under the terms of the agreement, customs duties will be eliminated on imports of industrial products, and concessions will be granted to facilitate the access of agricultural products to the market. Additionally, the agreement includes provisions regulating trade in services, electronic commerce, public procurement, and other pertinent areas.
EFTA has already concluded 29 free trade agreements with 40 countries, underscoring its commitment to fostering international trade relations.
