Brussels appreciates the effort the Republic of Moldova is making, including what the government and the judiciary are doing to speed up the accession process. Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov made the statement on Rlive TV’s show Rezoomat.
At the same time, she pointed out that the European authorities understand how complicated the justice reform is.
“Brussels understands the complexity of this reform and appreciates very much that we are not compromising the quality of this reform. It is important to understand that justice reform does not happen overnight. Justice reform is a long process, and we need time, even if all citizens of our country want to see a much faster step to cleanse justice of those corrupt elements and practices. At the same time, we are not the first country to go through such a cleansing process. There have been precedents in candidate countries,” Cristina Gherasimov said.
