Two more election contenders: CEC has registered Andrei Nastase and Octavian Ticu as presidential candidates

Andrei Nastase and Octavian Ticu are now officially registered as presidential candidates. The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) approved their candidacies on Monday, September 23, 2024.

CEC members highlighted that Nastase’s initiative group collected 25,100 signatures, including five online. Meanwhile, Ticu’s supporters gathered 20,946 signatures.

Preliminarily, Andrei Nastase, as an independent candidate, will be listed seventh on the ballot. Octavian Ticu, nominated by the “Impreuna” Bloc, will follow in the eighth position.

Previously, the CEC registered Alexandr Stoianoglo, Maia Sandu, Renato Usatii, Vasile Tarlev, Irina Vlah, and Ion Chicu as presidential candidates.

The applications and subscription lists submitted by Tudor Ulianovschi, Igor Munteanu, Natalia Morari, Victoria Furtuna, and Alexandru Arseni are under review.
