BREAKING NEWS: A Moldovan woman has died following the terrorist attack in Israel, according to information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Tragic news from Israel: on the evening of Tuesday, October 1, the country faced a rocket attack from Iran. A Moldovan woman, reportedly 40 years old, was among the victims of the terrorist attack in Jaffa, a town near Tel Aviv. She was married and had a six-year-old child, having lived in Israel for 18 years. Israeli media initially reported this information, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova (MAE) later confirmed it.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova expresses its deep regret over the death of a citizen of our country as a result of the terrorist attack in Yaffo, Tel Aviv, which occurred on the evening of October 1, 2024.”

The Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Israel remains in constant contact with local authorities while awaiting official confirmation of the victim’s identity. Our diplomatic mission is prepared to provide all necessary consular assistance to the victim’s family and loved ones.

We extend our sincere condolences to all the grieving families following the bloody terrorist attack that resulted in seven victims and coincided with the Iranian ballistic attack on Israel. The authorities of the Republic of Moldova firmly condemned both attacks,” stated the message issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The press reports that a total of seven people died as a result of the bloody attack, and 16 others were injured.

Social media posts claim that the woman in the images is the Moldovan who died.

On Tuesday, October 1, Iran launched a massive missile attack on Israel, accompanied by several terrorist attacks in Tel Aviv. One incident occurred in Jaffa, a suburb of the capital, where two armed individuals exited a light rail and opened fire on pedestrians. Elsewhere in the city, a resident reportedly suffered knife injuries in an attack. Another incident allegedly took place in a synagogue.

Mihai Popsoi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs in Chisinau, condemned the attacks.
