Moldova ranked second among the top wine tourism destinations, according to Bounce’s Wine Lover’s Index 2023. The country scored 8.16 points, second only to Portugal, which scored 8.83, bani.md reports.
The ranking was based on five indicators: wine consumption and production per capita, the percentage of land dedicated to vineyards, the number of visits and tastings per million inhabitants, and the average cost of a bottle of wine.
Moldova managed to outperform renowned wine countries such as Italy (7.86 points), Spain (7.18 points), and France (6.87 points), confirming its status as a top destination for wine enthusiasts.
