Diaspora from Russia, France and Romania most active at the polls: queues of over a hundred people

Meanwhile, the MFA reports that lines of more than a hundred people have formed at some polling stations in Austria, Belgium, and Spain.

The busiest polling stations abroad are in Russia and France. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), queues of over a hundred people have formed at some polling stations.

Large numbers of citizens are also waiting to vote at polling stations in Romania, Greece, Italy, and Turkey, where queues of 50 to 100 people have formed.

These are polling stations 38/73 in Athens 2, Greece, 38/124 in Modena, Italy, 38/179 in Bucharest 2 (consular section), Romania, and 38/180 in Bucharest 3.

The Central Electoral Commission decided to open 231 polling stations abroad for the presidential elections and the referendum on Moldova’s accession to the European Union on October 20. Authorities opened the most polling stations—60 in total—in Italy, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, the USA, and Romania.

The CEC printed 852,200 ballot papers for each election at polling stations abroad.
