Officials have reached the threshold for validating the presidential elections in the Republic of Moldova. Shortly after 2:30 PM, 953,000 voters cast their ballots, representing 33.3% of those registered on the electoral rolls. In the 2020 presidential elections, authorities reached the validation threshold around 4:00 PM, reports IPN.
The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) reports that around 215,000 voters cast their ballots in Chisinau, achieving a turnout of about 33%. In Balti, the participation rate exceeds 31%, and in Cahul, it surpasses 27%. In the Gagauz Autonomous Territorial Unit, voter turnout exceeds 30%.
The ratio of women to men among voters at the national level is 53.8% to 46.2%.

Regarding the participation rate in the constitutional referendum, data is collected from the territorial electoral offices of the polling stations. The reporting is done manually by counting the signatures on the electoral lists and transmitting the data via phone and email. This process causes delays in reporting the figures for the referendum. By noon, 442,331 people had participated in the referendum, representing 16.14%. The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) will present updated data at 4:00 PM.
The polling stations are open until 9:00 PM, and if necessary, their hours can be extended by two hours.
