Cristina Gherasimov: “We will continue to work with even greater responsibility and determination to bring Moldova into the EU”

Deputy Prime Minister Cristina Gherasimov expressed Moldova’s commitment to European integration, stating, “We will work with even greater responsibility and determination to bring Moldova into the EU.”

She emphasized that the participation of nearly 1.5 million voters in the referendum reaffirms Moldova as a strong democracy where every vote matters. Despite Russia’s interference and hybrid warfare, Moldova’s democracy has withstood the challenges. Gherasimov made these remarks in the context of the presidential elections and the referendum held on Sunday, October 20.

“Moldovans from north to south, in both the western and eastern districts and across the diaspora, have spoken. The vote of nearly 1.5 million people reaffirms that we are a democracy where every vote counts. Despite Russia’s meddling and hybrid war, Moldova’s democracy has endured. Thank you to all citizens for making your voices heard. The majority said YES to our country’s European future,” Gherasimov wrote.
