(VIDEO) The Minister of Justice addresses police officers, prosecutors, and judges: Let us be as vigilant as possible!

Ahead of the second round of presidential elections in the Republic of Moldova on Sunday, November 3, Minister of Justice Veronica Mihailov-Moraru urged representatives of law enforcement agencies to be vigilant.

“I will also appeal to the representatives of law enforcement. Dear prosecutors, police officers, and judges, it is crucial to remain vigilant and to respond promptly to any actions that threaten democracy. We respect each citizen’s right to political preferences. It is essential that these elections take place freely, without any influences, especially outside the realm of corruption,” stated the Minister of Justice.

Following the first round of the presidential elections, representatives of the National Anticorruption Center announced in a press release that fines amounting to approximately 1 million lei have been imposed for passive electoral corruption. The penalties for this type of offense range between 25,000 lei and 37,500 lei.
