“Ukrainians resist because they love their country.” The message from Sandu and Grosu on 1,000 days of war in Ukraine

On November 19, 2024, 1,000 days of war in Ukraine will be marked. The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, and Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu shared messages.

“Today marks a thousand days since Ukraine has been resisting a terrible act of aggression. These thousand days mean relentless bombs falling on the homes of Ukrainians, deported children, separated families, hospitals, schools, and kindergartens destroyed, cities and villages wiped off the map, and thousands of precious lives lost. But Ukrainians resist because they love their country. Because they want to preserve it for future generations. Ukrainians are defending not just their land but also our peace, and they are defending the peace of our continent,” the head of state wrote.

Igor Grosu also shared a brief message on his Facebook page.

“Today marks 1,000 days of war in Ukraine. These are 1,000 days in which the Russian Federation has bombed villages and cities in Ukraine while millions of Ukrainians are living through a tragedy. It has been a thousand days in which Ukraine has fought heroically day by day and stood firm against the aggressor. The Ukrainian people deserve and must emerge victorious, and Moldova will stand by them through both good and difficult times,” the official declared.

We recall that Tuesday, November 19, marks 1,000 days since Russia brutally attacked Ukraine. The devastating human and material losses continue to rise, leaving the neighboring country more vulnerable than ever compared to the early days of the war.
