Parties affiliated with Ilan Shor will be reviewed by the Central Electoral Commission (CEC). Priority will be given to financial documents

The “Future of Moldova” Party, led by Vasile Tarlev the “Renaissance” Party, headed by Vasile Bolea, Irina Lozovan, and Natalia Parasca the “Alternative Force and Salvation of Moldova” Party, presided over by Alexandru Beschieru, the “Chance” Party, led by Alexei Lungu, the “Victory” Bloc, founded by fugitive Ilan Shor, as well as the initiative group of independent presidential candidate Victoria Furtuna, are undergoing comprehensive audits related to party financing. This was announced by the Central Electoral Commission (CEC). The audit covers the period from July 1 to October 31, 2024.

The CEC stated, “The actual control begins with the organization of the initial session where representatives of the entity under review present themselves to the control authority with a preliminary set of requested documents. Subsequently, control operations involve the examination and verification of the accuracy of the financial reports submitted to the CEC by reflecting all revenue and expenses incurred for activities carried out.”

The control will involve analyzing primary accounting documents, information received from lower electoral bodies, public authorities, banks, media service providers, and advertisers managing fixed or mobile advertising devices. A working group established by the CEC President’s order will control it and will take place from November 6, 2024, to March 1, 2025.

The CEC has invited the presidents and treasurers of the mentioned parties according to a set schedule:

– November 20, 10:00 AM – “CHANCE” Party;
– November 22, 10:00 AM – “Alternative Force and Salvation of Moldova” Party;
– November 25, 10:00 AM – “VICTORY” Party;
– November 26, 10:00 AM – “Future of Moldova” Party;
– November 27, 10:00 AM – Victoria Furtuna.

The first session with the representatives of the “Renaissance” Party was held on Tuesday, November 19, and only the party treasurer attended.

According to the CEC, the audit will conclude with preparing separate reports for each entity under review, including significant aspects verified, findings, and potential recommendations, signed by the head of the working group and its members. Each control report will be published on the CEC’s official website within a maximum of three days from the audit’s completion. After publication, the report will be reviewed and debated in the CEC session.
