PAS MP Olesea Stamate has been elected as a substitute member of the Council for Democratic Elections on behalf of the Venice Commission. “Honored,” the politician commented on social media last Friday, December 6.
“I am honored to have been proposed and elected as a substitute member of the Council for Democratic Elections on behalf of the Venice Commission. The Council for Democratic Elections is the only tripartite body of the Consiliul Europei, comprising members from the Venice Commission, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), and the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities. It reviews all opinions and documents (guidelines and codes of good practice) in elections and political parties before they are examined by the Commission,” Stamate stated.

Olesea Stamate has been a Member of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova since 2021 and served as the Chair of the Legal Committee on Appointments and Immunities until January 2024.
