Public transport fares in the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova are increasing by 17%, following a decision adopted on April 14 by the administration in Tiraspol.
The measure applies to passenger and baggage transport on regular urban and suburban routes and comes amid rising costs, especially fuel prices, which have increased by more than 30%, as well as inflation and the higher minimum wage set for 2026. According to the so-called authorities, tariffs had not been properly adjusted over the past three years.
As a result, the transport tariff increases from 0.75 to 0.88 rubles per passenger-kilometer (approximately from 0.70 lei to 0.82 lei).
The most noticeable increases will affect longer routes. For example:
- A trip from Tiraspol to Camenca will now cost 150 rubles (about 140.6 lei), up from 127.85 rubles.
- On the Tiraspol – Dnestrovsc route, the fare rises from 31.25 rubles (around 29.3 lei) to 36.65 rubles (about 34.4 lei).
The new tariffs will take effect immediately after the official publication of the decision.
