On Friday, December 6, Russian Ambassador Oleg Ozerov visited the city of Soroca, accompanied by Socialist MP Alla Pilipetcaia, known for her expression “Fericiun Cracit.” The Kremlin diplomat was welcomed with the traditional bread and salt ceremony.
Photos published on the official page of the Russian Embassy in Moldova show the ambassador holding a package bearing the symbols of the Soroca District Council, suggesting he may have received a gift from the local administration.
In other images shared by the embassy’s press service, Ozerov holds a miniature replica of the Soroca Fortress, receiving flowers and enjoying tea and sweets. According to the press release, the ambassador also met with representatives of the Russian community in the region.

”Oleg Ozerov laid flowers at the commemorative monument marking the crossing of the Dniester by Peter the Great’s troops, which entered Moldovan territory under the alliance treaty with Dimitrie Cantemir for a joint struggle against the Ottoman Empire. The head of the diplomatic mission highlighted the symbolic significance of this monument, noting that Soroca historically served as a ‘meeting place’ between Russia and Moldova,” the embassy statement reads, promoting manipulative narratives.
In addition to meeting with the local administration, the ambassador boasted on social media about visiting the picturesque neighborhood of ”Hill of the Gypsies” and a church under construction. In a photo taken at the church, the ambassador and the priest hold icons, though the press service did not clarify whether the icons were gifts received or given by the diplomat.
