Moldovan athletes won six medals at the World Championships in Ukrainian wrestling version. The Ministry of Education and Research (MER) announced it.
Maxim Iuhnevich (90 kg, Balti) in the men’s category and Vera Zorea (52 kg, Calarasi) in the women’s category claimed gold medals. In the women’s competition, Marinela Burca (57 kg, Calarasi) and Alina Burghelea (78 kg, Calarasi) earned silver medals, while Constantin Zorea (70 kg, Calarasi) and Lucian Brai (80 kg, Calarasi) secured bronze.
The World Championships took place from December 11-17 in Vilnius, Lithuania. It attracts approximately 200 athletes from 23 countries.
