Chisinau condemns Moscow’s alarmist rhetoric: “An unacceptable interference in the internal affairs of our state”

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of the Republic of Moldova, led by Mihai Popsoi, strongly condemns the statements made by Nikolai Patrushev, the former head of the Federal Security Service and advisor to the Kremlin’s dictator, for promoting alarmist scenarios about the future of Moldova.

A press release issued on Tuesday, January 14, states that ”such remarks constitute an unacceptable interference in the internal affairs of our state and aim to destabilize the region. The Republic of Moldova is a sovereign state, firmly committed to democracy and European integration, in line with the will of its citizens.”

”The Republic of Moldova will continue to firmly defend its interests through peaceful means and constructive dialogue, based on respect for sovereignty and the principles of international law,” the statement adds.
