Moldova imported more than 62% of the electricity consumed in January. Average price: 129.7 EUR/MWh

In January, Energocom purchased 434,000 MWh of electricity from the local market and imports, at a weighted average price of 129.7 euro/MWh. The largest share of the electricity purchased, 62.13%, was imported, IPN reports.

The share of domestic production in total purchases for January was 37.87%. The combined heat and power plants (CHPs) in Chisinau and Balti generated 126,000 MWh (29.12%), while renewable energy parks and plants produced nearly 38,000 MWh (8.75%).

Energocom notes that the weighted average price of 129.7 euro/MWh is below the purchase cap included in the current tariff set by the National Energy Regulatory Agency (145 euro/MWh).
