Chisinau International Airport ranks among the top high-performing airports in Europe, with a traffic of up to 10 million passengers annually. ACI Europe (Airports Council International) compiles the ranking.
Representatives of Chisinau Airport note that passenger traffic in 2024 has increased by 46% compared to 2023. As a result, the airport holds the second position in the ranking, surpassed only by Tirana Airport, where passenger numbers rose by 47.3%.

“Compared to the pre-pandemic period in 2019, the performance difference in passenger traffic for 2024 is significant. Analyzing passenger traffic relative to the pre-pandemic period, the airport shows an impressive increase of 38.3%,” officials state.
The number of airlines operating at Chisinau International Airport and the destinations has also increased. In January 2025 alone, 330,233 passengers flew from Moldova’s capital, 62% more than in the same period last year.
