Breaking news! MP Olesea Stamate expelled from the Party of Action and Solidarity

MP Olesea Stamate lost her membership in the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) after the party’s National Standing Bureau decided to expel her. PAS demanded that she resign from Parliament, accusing her of using her mandate to initiate a flawed legislative process related to the amnesty law.

PAS explained that a colleague, an expert in the field, modified the law, and the party voted for it based on trust. They now recognize the severe consequences of a scheme that someone planned over several years. PAS expelled Stamate and urged her to surrender her MP mandate. The party emphasized the need to prevent future abuse by closing legislative loopholes. PAS based its conclusions on a preliminary analysis.

PAS leader Igor Grosu stated that the party will make additional decisions after completing a full review. He called on law enforcement institutions to investigate everyone involved.

In the statement, PAS pointed out that deliberate legal loopholes and systemic abuses enabled the release of dangerous inmates serving life sentences. According to the party, someone added specific provisions to the law to allow the release of individuals convicted of serious crimes.

Olesea Stamate accepted the decision. In a social media post, she said she understood the leadership’s move and insisted that she had acted legally and correctly.
