President Maia Sandu addressed Moldovans with dual citizenship, urging them to exercise their right to vote in the second round of Romania’s presidential election, which will take place on May 18. She wished candidate Nicusor Dan success and stated in her Facebook message that Romania needs us now, and Europe needs us in Romania.
“We, Moldovans, know the value of freedom and security, and we want to be part of the European family, together with Romania. Those with Romanian citizenship can vote this weekend to protect what Romania has already achieved, but it is now under threat. Good luck, Nicusor Dan! I admire your decency, resilience, and respect for truth. It’s not easy in populist times, but that makes it even more important to do what’s right–for Romania and the Republic of Moldova,” wrote Maia Sandu on Facebook.
